Why is my gift so important?
Although we receive funding from our major sponsors this only covers a portion of our programs and services. Fundraising and donations are important sources of income that fill in the gap between the money provided by our sponsors and actual funding needs of our programs and services.

I got a letter asking for money in the mail, but I can only give about $5. Isn't it better to wait until later when I have more to give?
No, you can send it now! You’d be amazed at how many donations we get under $10, and they all add up to a significant portion in the end. We'll always accept any donation from you at any time, but you should know that your donation is valuable, regardless of the amount.

There are other more serious problems in the world. Why should I give to your organization?
We agree that there are many serious problems, not just HIV. Deaths associated with HIV are not as prevalent as they were in the 1980s, however HIV cases are one the rise. Youth today between the ages of 13 and 24 have seen a 40% increase in infections since 1999. HIV is still a terminal disease and the average life span with someone living with the illness is 10 years. So, the younger a person is infected with HIV the more likely they are to die of AIDS. HIV is not the only posing healthcare problem facing our society today, but it certainly is an imminent one.

Where does my money go?
All donations stay in Southern Arizona and help our programs and services. Many of our clients are struggling to live full and productive lives while living with HIV/AIDS and our services assist them with coping with the illness. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a letter for your gift as a result.

How can I give?
There are many ways to support our programs and services. Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and all donations are tax deductible. You can support us in the following ways:

• Mail us a check made payable to “Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation” or by credit card online or by phone at 520-628-SAAF (7223).
• Participate in any of our special events.
• Make a bequest in your will to SAAF or make a special funeral request that donations be made to SAAF in lieu of flowers.
• Make an in-kind donation.
• Make a donation in honor or memory of a loved one.  Just state in a letter to whom you wish to make the memorial donation. If making a donation in memory or honor of a friend, we can notify their family of your contribution at your request.
• Make a gift by donating stock.
• Make a gift by donating your used vehicle.
