We want our volunteers to know how much we appreciate all that they do. Because our volunteers are so essential to keeping our programs and services running, we try to recognize volunteers’ efforts on a regular basis in a variety of ways. These are just a few of the ways that we show our thanks!

The most common way that we recognize volunteers is by thanking them personally on a regular basis. SAAF staff thank their volunteers face to face, by email, or by dropping a card in the mail. Though a simple approach, we hope that personal touch really shows that we care.

Active volunteers receive a personalized birthday card from SAAF staff during their birthday month. Your birthday card may come to you with signatures from staff you haven't met, because no matter where you are working in the agency, we all appreciate your commitment and effort. But don't worry, we share dates, not ages!

Each year, we plan a special event for our volunteers, which usually happens in the spring. This is your time to relax, enjoy great food and fun, and be recognized for the time and effort you have given throughout the year. The event includes an awards ceremony to honor outstanding volunteer contributions in many different areas of the agency. Award recipients’ names are also included in an agency plaque, which hangs in the Volunteer Resources room. Next time you are in the SAAF offices, take a peek at our wall of fame!
