CLINICAL SERVICES

at SAAF include the following:

  • Case Management;
  • Peer Counseling;
  • Mental Health Services provided through a licensed professional counselor.

Case Management serves people who are living with HIV/AIDS and who are residing permanently or temporarily in Pima County. Case managers help clients identify their needs through a comprehensive assessment and determine what services clients are eligible for based upon financial and other eligibility guidelines.

The ultimate goal of case management is to help clients become self-reliant and self-sufficient in managing their lives.

“All the staff I deal with are always very helpful.  Their hearts are in the right place.”  SAAF Client

Peer Counseling provides people living with HIV/AIDS with a caring person (peer counselor) living with or deeply affected by HIV/AIDS. The Peer Counselors conduct intake interviews with new clients, help locate treatment options, find appropriate referrals for special needs, provide emotional support, and help facilitate the problem-solving process with clients. Peer Counselors assist clients in becoming self-empowered.

If you are coming in for an intake interview with a Peer Counselor, please visit the New to SAAF page.
